Sal Sabila is an outstanding young leader and inspiring advocate for the power of youth in a world experiencing uncertain times. Like the delegates in this room tonight, Sal is a young person with the vision and conviction to enact positive change, and wants to do it now – not wait until after her undergraduate degree. Already at the age of 21, she has dedicated herself to supporting the passion and initiative of young people to improve their communities. She has founded not just one but two not-for-profit organizations: tonight, she will describe some of her journey in founding the first of these, called Youth Gravity. As Sal herself will explain, Youth Gravity is an organization that provides young people with a platform to realize projects for the betterment of their communities. Her journey in creating Youth Gravity was born in part out of the realization that young people do not have the same access to those in leadership roles or to opportunities for community engagement and development that older adults typically do. Youth Gravity aims directly to fill this gap by providing a supportive framework of human resources and know-how to help young people to plan, fund, and execute ideas to make changes that reflect the needs of youth
